With the current shit show that is Twitter/X, we decided we wanted a place to back up our updated content. A little history, about 3 years ago (during BBCAN9) we woke up one morning to our account being banned. Everything was gone, including the 40k followers we had gained over years of several people’s hard work. At the time Twitter told us it was because we were impersonating another account, but wouldn’t tell us who and gave us no course of action. Instead of throwing in the towel, we quickly got a new account up (@bbliveupdaters) and barely missed a beat. Our group of bb lovers worked hard to recreate what we had lost and succeeded.
Cut to 2022 – Elon buys Twitter and things go downhill, and are still spiraling to this day. Limits on tweets you can see or DMs you can reply to unless you pay this less-than-great person. The group chat had questions… how are we going to navigate this? Do we pay? What if all of our work gets wiped out again? Enter this website. Somewhere we can be in control of our content while still being able to interact with other BB lovers if the worst happens *cough, Elon destroys it all, cough*.
